THE CREATURE!!
As she lay in bed she could remember it all as if it happened
yesterday. She knew she was having her nightmare again but as hard as
she tried she couldn't wake-up. She heard the laughing as all her
friends and herself had piled into the old shack in the woods. They
were going to stay there for the weekend and had just arrived when they
found a bottle. Curious everyone huddled around it as it was opened.
That's when it began, the terror and the pain. Emerging from the bottle
came a gruesome hideous creature who smelled like any and everything
rotten. There and then he had his first victim. He scratched her face
and then squashed her, squeezing her life out. It was so gruesome that
she didn't wish to watch and jumped behind the couch. We all heard her
pleas, her screams of pain and saw all the blood splashing on the
walls.
He took them all one by one and did the same. He was just about to get
her&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;Abby
Carlton sat up with a start .It was the middle of the night ,there was
no sound except the sound of crickets and her deep breathing. She was
drenched in sweat and tears were pouring down her cheeks. She really
missed them all and her family. He had found them after the weekend and
done the same. He had killed everyone she knew accept her Gran. Her
Gran had taken her in and looked after her. She didn't go to school
cause she couldn't face everyone and couldn't convert cause she was
afraid if she made new friends she'd get them killed if the Creature
found her .She would have to live the rest of her life in fear and in
hiding for the Creature would somehow find her and, yet again, ruin her
life. She NEVER wanted to see his horrid face nor his voice but every
time she went to her friends graves it would remind her, like a leach
that, even though you've pried it from your body, it still stays
attached .She didn't want to die, not today, tomorrow, never. Abby
Burst into tears again and then fell fast
asleep&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;..
She was surprised that her Gran hadn't woken her up but that's when she
heard the sound of sirens and people walking inside her house!!!! She
woke up to an empty house the next morning because her Gran had died
yesterday. She was to organise a funeral in honour of her Gran and then
somehow get on with her life by herself, as an orphan. Soon after
everything was over, she had been to the funeral and come home to find
blood all over the walls saying," I've found you," "I'm coming to get
you!" I had been so petrified but after a week everything
stopped&;#8230;&;#8230;&;#8230;
A Month after all that had happened, out by a river surrounded by trees
and animals stood Abby, the last survivor of the terrible things that
had happened over the last month. Just thinking about all that had
happened in a month made her shiver despite the scorching sun. When the
nightmare had stopped so had a few other things. There were no more
screams, no running, no hiding, no crying or yelling! But things that
mattered had gone to. There was no more laughter, love, caring or fun.
He had taken all those that mattered away. No family or friends, only
the thought of them and wondering if he would ever find her. He had
taken away everything even her heart. She had nothing to care or love
and nothing to do the same back. It all happened in one easy gash,
quick yet painful! She might not have been injured but on the inside
was a large gaping hole never to be filled again! As Abby gazed out at
a cloudless sky tears filled her eyes. She knew this place so well yet
it was unfamiliar; a place she once loved had turned into a stranger!
There was nobody to share this beauty with. It was like a dream, a
fairytale come true. A tear escaped and slid down her cheek. Abby lay
on the soft grass below her and pictured her friends. Their faces so
clear and alive, eyes dancing, mouths smiling, how she missed all that.
She gave a long, deep sigh. A sigh full of love and happiness, but also
fear and sadness. For once she felt safe and happy. She remembered all
the good times and began smiling. On and on the memories came and soon
Abby was sobbing. She wanted them all back, every single one! She was
deep in thought and so did not hear all the animals quieten or the
sound of the river fade. All she heard was the cracking of branches,
the wind growing stronger and a soft voice calling her name! "Abby,
Abby, Abby, Abby!" "No." Abby whispered. She felt her lips go dry and
she stiffened. She sprang up and searched all around. " How did you
find me?!" Abby shrieked, " Leave me alone!" She was shaking. The only
reply he gave was, "Abby, I'm coming Abby!" She began to whimper and
run. She ran as fast as she could towards the edge of the wood but her
eyes were blocked from the tears. She stumbled and fell. Lying there on
the ground she thought of how he would kill her. She had been there
when he killed one of her friends. She couldn't move because her leg
was in pain. She had hit it hard onto something and now it was
stinging. She looked up at his gruesome figure towering over her and
turned away from fear of puking! "Why? Why us? What did we do?" She
whined. " You and your friends found me and let me out. You were all so
foolish and drunk that you didn't care about the notice on the door or
the fact that I was wrapped inside a chest with chains and locks all
over it, did you even see the huge red sign tied on saying 'DANGER-DO
NOT OPEN'?" He replied in his soft voice. "How did you know about all
of that?" Abby asked still trying to find a way to escape. "I can see
through any and everything, so I'll always know where you're hiding! I
can even read your thoughts" His snake like voice cutting into her
thoughts and then she knew that there was nothing she could do!" I can
see that you're scared!" He said with a smile baring all his rotting,
smelly, black fang-like teeth." It'll be over quickly I promise!" A
happy yet evil expression on his face. Tears filled Abby's eyes as she
made a final attempt to fight for her life!
"Nobody heard her pleas,
Nobody heard her cry,
Nobody heard her scream,
Nobody will know. Her soul will drift away into the wind and be
forgotten, just like the rest. The only one who will know is,
ME!!"
