of the fire engine cops and robbers innocence

across the bleached bagel ration
dissolved in black syrup cola
and slim this and lite that
(provided it's party of a calorie controlled diet)

and are we happy
with push button dreams
and software delights
CDROM sensuality in small plastic boxes
little blue pills little red
little green and yellow capsules
and one big orange pill to make the others go down
are we happy
in this individually wrapped
shake and tear
stir in
instant
microwavable
miserable world
supermarket singles
and DVD rentals
barricaded behind windows and doors
with just a phone line for company
