Narcissus

Narcissus needs
a loving gaze
As a baby
his Mother looked away
or hid her eyes
tired and sad
He has needed ever since
a pretty mirror
to exist
not to move or speak
or love his human self
but exist
reflect for him
that he lives
his self love missing
The mirrors
stand and say
yes you have lovely gifts
a kindly soul ,a clever wit
and here I am
Narcissus look at me
They spoke and moved
He looks again and
mirrors
cracked with sorrow
are replaced
