Candyapple Kisses

Your love leaves me feeling as fragile as rice paper
Twisted and folded like origami
Living a lie
Deception like a noose around my throat
In a house that weeps tears of mortar and stone
It's occupants too self-involved to cry
Candy apple kisses only go so far
Before the sweetness rots inside
Nothing for me to do but stand aside
As the train pulls out
Another wasted chance
The dream best left to die
Tattered as an old cloak
My soul drifts about me
As the rain sheilds my eyes from view
So I sheild my heart from you.
