The France you never got to see
Has very little ugliness
On its mountains baa the sheep
In its valleys songbirds cheep.

The France you never got to see
Still lures us to those Gallic shores
From a car one can perceive
Happy French folk, birds and bees.

The France you sadly never got to see
I’m now sure you’ve seen and tasted
Just as I harbor every certainty
You not one crumb or red drop wasted.
