Dear Abi,
Nothing exciting has happened to me for a while, but I feel like I have to talk to you urgently, because you are my best friend, and I don't like neglecting you. I am at school at this minute. Learning about the joyous world of fractions. In case you didn't notice, I was being sarcastic. Miss Pitt, my Maths teacher, is telling me right this minute to stop writing in my journal, and look at the board. Cheek! I'm not writing in my journal, I'm talking to my best friend, I tell her. Don't be silly, she replies, marlin's not here today. She doesn't understand, poor woman, best friends don't have to be human beings, they can be animals or inanimate objects, or possibly, the reincarnation of a character from your favourite cartoon show. She'll never understand, poor woman; she has no imagination. No imagination whatsoever. I look up at the board. All I see, is a load of numbers underneath over numbers. They mean nothing to me. Uh oh, Mis Pitt is giving me evils! She's coming over, I better say goodbye to you quickly before she bans you from the classroom until the end of the day.
