Hello, Abi,
I am still in disgrace over the Bowl Incident. I'm not locked in my room like Repunzal anymore, but Mum's still grounded me. She's not letting me have pocket money for the next month, plus I have to dust the whole house and wash the dinner dishes for a whole month; I'm not allowed to have sweets or stay up really, really late on a Friday, watching horror movies like I used to. Honestly! I'm seriously considering ringing up Childline, and letting them know my mother's turned into a witch. Yeah, that might not be a bad idea, I could ring up anonymously, call myself Cinderella...
Sometime later on 23RD Feb, 1999
Sorry if I slipped away there Abi, but I was doing something important. Ringing up Childline actually. I gave them my name and address, and told them that my mother's stopped my pocket money for no apparent reason and that she's making me cdo chores, like Snow White or Cinderella. Then they thanked me for my call, and said they'd be in touch anytime soon.
Oh, Abi, what if they visit and find Mum being really mean to me. They might stick me in care, like that girl, Tracy Beaker. I might get fostered, like Tracy did, but have loads of friends in the Dumping Ground, as she liked to call it...
"Ali," Mum's come into my room. The cheek of it! She could've knocked first!
"Ali, I've just had a phone call from Childline. They said they're coming round tomorrow to have a little chat about you. Do you know what this is about, Ali?"
Yes, Mum, yes I do. And you know as well. Oh, well. Goodbye Abi, looks like Mum hasn't got a clue.
Catch up with ya later!
