(Performance poem)
You touch that dial
it makes you glassy eyed
Cool waves of energy
vision on TV
vision on TV
The square eye in the corner of the room
flickers constantly
Pictures squeezed through tubes
Automatically
Turned on by turned off people
passively
The channel everyone is watching
apathy
The conversation killer speaks
gobbledegook
The viewers like voyeurs sit
star struck
And this is television land
escaping
Dreaming by the silver screen
vegetating
You touch that dial
it makes you glassy eyed
Cool waves of energy
vision on TV
