Don’t leave me here.
The stars are spinning away, twisting away
From my clutching fingers.
The world is collapsing,
Fragments flying away, out of any control.
You ride upon them,
Lifted out of my grasp.
You’ll never know what
Its like to be, human.
The early hours are nothing to you.
Even I see the moon,
Waiting for you
I pause, watch her take your hand,
And for the first time, I know heartbreak.
The sky sobs with me. Tears hang in the air.
Even the sun mourns,
swinging low in his
Dull sky.
You look like you’re ready to go.
Leave me here.
I can stay with the sun if you take the moon.
