THE TALE OF THE EASTER EGG

"But, Mum!"
"No, buts, Gregory! You're not having that Easter Egg, and that's final!"
I crossed my arms and sighed. Mum had only brought me to this dire shopping centre, because she said she would buy me anything I wanted. And what I wanted right now, was the KitKat Chunky Easter Egg sitting on the top shelf, all by itself. Mum knows that KitKat Chunky is my most favourite chocolate in all the world, and here she was, torturing me by telling me that I couldn't have KitKat Chunky Easter Egg. It wasn't fair, Mum said I could have whatever I wanted, and that's what I wanted.
"Why can't I have it, Mum?" I whined. "It's not that expensive."
"It isn't the money, Gregory. It's because you're getting a teeny bit fat. You need to go on a diet."
I very nearly fell over in shcck - just the night before, Mum had a go at me for leaving my mash, saying I needed fattening up, I was getting so skinny, and now here she was, telling me I was getting fat.
But when I pointed this out to her, she told me to stop answering back.
In the end, I ended up not having the egg, but Mum did buy me a new pair of blue trainers, seeing as my old ones were getting dirty, which was actually kind of neat.
I still felt sore about the egg, though, and didn't talk to Mum on the way home. As I opened the front door, Dad greeted me: "Hello, Greg! Guess what, I have a surprise for you!"
I told him I wasn't in the mood, and went hurtling upstairs to my room. And stopped dead in my tracks.
There, sitting on my bed, waitinmg for me, was a KitKat Chunky Easter Egg!
