The End Of The World

The universe, which has been expanding since the big bang is now retracting. Gravity finally became introverted and, to the amazement of scientists everywhere, and to the utter shock of everyone else, it's all coming back.

Every star, planet, blackhole and galaxy is hurtling through space towards the point of the big bang.

Our galaxy has already become slightly distorted and at 16:25 human time our galaxy will collide with our neighbour, Andromeda.

Any eyes that could possibly see this event would behold a spectacle of colour, supersonic sound and force of inconceivable amounts.

Unfortunately, no one is there to look in, everybody is trapped on earth, rooted to our graves.

16:05. I am with my family. We gather in one room, hugging, crying, smiling, laughing, silent, living.

At 16:23 the sky darkened slightly. Then.........

It was over. No rumbling. No blinding flash of light. No eruption of any kind. Just.........

By 20:00 human time the last of the galaxies compressed and crushed themselves together, back into one.

For an unknown amount of time (since time ceased to exist) everything was whole; an incomprehensibly small dot.

Then it all took off again. Gases spewed forth at tremendous speeds and cooled and compressed and hardened and changed.

"Darn it", a loud, booming voice said, "nobody got it that time either!"
