Three wishes

If I had tree wishes what would they be?
Would I stand on the edge of the world and save the last tree?

Would I tell the soldier he’s fired the last round
And let those guns rust in the ground

Would I bring my mother back from heavenly rest?
Then once again I could lie at her breast

Would I touch the blind and make them see
Or would I save all them wishes just for me

I don’t want to watch the sun flicker and die
And see the blackening of the sky

Three wishes in not enough to pay nature’s ledger
And I don’t want to live forever.
