A butterfly and it's colony
flutter off against seas of change,
where the waves come crashing
against calmness all the same,
where once they had slept
in silken dreams of the past,
in meadows that shined
on whispered leaves they held fast,
before the sleep they were found
crawling up that light green stem,
before that they knew the shell
to the stars an earthen bound gem,
that had a life story to tell.
