the rain streams, shining in grey gullies.
city cobbles into wet,... tiny street
darkly a-drip.
Huddled in doorways, doused figures hunch tight,
stained birds flapping umbrellas.
Water rattles windows, gurgles, whines.
We flock, miserable, jostling for corners
while the pavement runs and mutters.
Then, from where, the shocked air
streams pure flute...
colours spin rich and fine
waving down air, winding
the wet wind,
vanishing into the puddled night
like smoke.

Hello again, Maddie! I've already been offered a place at York :) But as it's not my first choice - and I'm still waiting on Durham - I'm not 100% sure where I'll be going! But it's encouraging to hear how great York is from someone who actually lives there ;)

My youngest left York St
My youngest left York St John a couple of years ago - she had a corking three years there - and we loved the city on our visits.
