"I've had an idea for a short story."
"Excellent, then you should write it."
"It's very slight. Not much of an idea at all."
"Then you shouldn't write it."
"That's why I'm asking. Your advice."
"Tell me the story."
"It's just one man telling another man about his short story idea."
"Is that it?"
"That's it."
"Doesn't sound much of a story to me. Where's the dramatic plot twist?"
"There's no dramatic plot twist."
"Where's the subtle development of character?"
"There's no subtle development of character."
"Where's the deep insight into the human condition."
"There's no deep insight into the human condition." (Pause). "There’s a fight with a tiger though."
"Then you should write it. I love stories with tigers."
"Okay, I will."
"Oh no, a tiger. Aagghhh, it's attacking me."
"It's attacking me too, aagghhh."
"It can't be attacking both of us simultaneously."
"Sorry. My stories always lack realism."
