STUMPED! BUT NOT OUT! true

Our wonderful daughter
for another mothers day treat
brought the tickets
for the show
"Abba Gold"
at the Theatre Royal
came and did my hair
that was stuck up in the air
put a flick in it
re-adjusted my make-up
Eye lids mauve and pastel blue
Mascara black to make
the lashes stand up to
I looked! in the mirror
none of it was really me
I'd bought already some gold pumps
with tie laces on
And my trousers
I sewed a long gold braid
down the seams
plus music notes
to make it complete
I felt like the bees knees
Yes I was ready
to be a "Dancing Queen"
The daughter parked her car
Both of us walked up the roads
the pavement narrowed
I do fear!
As suddenly the tree trunks
feet appeared
Like a monster with claws
to grab you my dear
I went up and over the other side
but tripped
as another foot loomed there
I cried! Ouch!
On the ground
Our daughter turned round
to see where! I was
But was calling out "mind the car"
but really stumped like that
Who knows where' you are
a man came must be from a garage
So kind and elderly
are you ok.
all I wanted was some water
to bathe my hands the pain.
I wanted to go home
But the show only one day
She put her arm in mine
I'd had bruised mauve hands
my little toes ached! and my knee
so we carried on as planned
to meet her friend
She rushed in came out with
antiseptic cream
then slapped it on like mousse
everywhere
We then managed to get the bus
I didn't want
to make much fuss!
then we went through
The Royal Pavilion gardens
leaning on one of them
the other took photos
of us all glammed up
Into The Theatre Royal
for our seats
our daughter held my hands
to warm them up
Undone my shoe
so my toes could breathe
slipped a bit of tissue in
incase I sneezed!
"It was a brilliant show
but no dancing in the aisles
I was pleased"
but after an hour or so
We all were asked to get up
and dance in our tight seats
which I did with a bit of ease
interval time one could buy
illuminated wands
and coloured balls
press off and on
I wasn't in a mood!
for flashing lights
The guitarists were good
"Abba" Songs some I knew
the drummer did a solo
there was a keyboard player to
The children of the theatre group
all singing and smiling on stage
with the "Abba" group
how could I bruised not partake
just because I was a bit stiff
But I remember the small stage
with my belated mum
got me to go with her
to be extras in
"Noel Cowards" Cavalcade'
people beside me wondered why
I was fidgeting
as I had an ouch! and a ache!
undone my shoe
stuffed a little bit of tissue
incase I sneezed!
We got the bus home
I bathed my toes one blue
and put butter on
If you see the monster!
roots of the tree
look! don't trip over
like me
.
now I am resting my feet
and having a cup of tea
walk and stand gradually
may be I was barking up the wrong tree!
