THE BARMAN

The barman hears all takes on life
The guy who just can't trust his wife,
The middle aged Joe who's lost his job
The big "I am" with a great big gob.
The barmaid hears all kinds of yap
The "stud" who can't control his trap,
The geezer who just likes to flirt
The weirdo leering down her shirt.
Through the years he's heard them all
Fishy tale, story tall,
"I did this" and "I screwed her"
and size of breast they most prefer.
All throughout her short career
All kinds of men have bent her ear,
From those who meet no other girls
To those who seek her shortest curls.
Every night it's much the same
Behind the bar they play the game,
With sundry drunks who think them friends
Until, that is, the day's shift ends.
