"Where are you from anyway?" she asked as she lit another cigarette.
"South Korea?"
"What gives you the right to write about me?" she asked curiously, "What do you really know about me?"
"I've observed..." he felt insecure.
"You've observed," she was about to let out a chuckle.
"How could I forgive my father? He took away my life. He becomes the Mayor of New York, and I, a mere nothing... a promise lost..."
"You wouldn't have killed him though... he didn't deserve that."
"I know that, but still, I was in awe of him and then, he ended up being such a selfish, delusional man... and he becomes... a RAPIST of all things."
"You always knew that he was that kind of man. That's why you forgave him."
"I didn't forgive him. YOU DID!"
He felt a bit taken back. He could understand her anger, but he wasn't quite sure what to do about it. Also, he didn't want to visit the character of Sarah again. He wanted to ask her to leave, but he didn't. He just looked at her, pitying her. Yes, she was a promise lost. She had worshipped her father without being aware of his anger and even hatred of her. She had no mother, at least, not a mother who was present in her life. What was she supposed to do?
"If I were male, would I have killed him?" she asked, almost amused.
"The father would not have raped his son."
"Why not?"
"He just wouldn't have?"
"And if he did?"
She was angry. Her eyes flickered harshly.
"Do you hate me?" she asked, turning the conversation around.
"NO."
"Then why am I such a conflicted character?"
"That's the way you are. That is your nature."
"Really?"
