It Has Ended

It has ended
The endless pain of rejection
The why not me
Of what I lacked
Peace has found me
But others still knock
On the door of my newly opened heart
Trying to gain entry
Squat there like a freeloader
Never giving
Only taking
I resist
For they started this
I merely tagged along
Thinking the adventure would be a good one
Rather than the nightmare
That sapped myself
I stand now
Alone in the rubble of my life
That could have been
If the bulldozer people had not arrived
Claiming ground not theirs
Not worked for
Or inherited
I will rebuild
I will be like the corner stone
Rejected by the builders
Of material structures
With poor foundations
Forgive my mistakes
Build on rock
Away from the crashing of the waves
The whipping of the wind
I will shelter
Those they share my love of life
Of peace and even days
Expel the noisy
Trouble making hoards
That try to storm my castle of solitude
Disguised as a Grecian horse of offered affection
I burn offerings
My soul rises upwards
With the smoke
And I am where I should be
For now……….
