Captain Blizzard to the rescue 7/7

A small lump of snow was rising from the middle of the heap. Bits of ice and flakes of snow were falling away, while Frosty slowly became recognizable in the middle. He waved to Jennifer Jane when he saw her with the West Wind, then Captain Blizzard’s cloud flew down to him and he disappeared from sight as he climbed up the rope ladder.

The West Wind flew his cloud alongside before going back to his gale making. Jennifer Jane thanked him for his help and stepped across from one cloud to the other to make sure Frosty was all right. Then while the climate cloud flew back to her house, Frosty came up shyly and asked her a question.

“Now that I’ve met Captain Blizzard, do you think you could make me look a bit thinner round the middle? I’m sure it would be all right because you made me in the first place. In any case I’m sure I’ve got some extra snow and ice stuck on in several places.”

Jennifer Jane laughed. Fortunately her Girl Guide knife was attached to her dungarees by its lanyard, so she opened the blade and began removing the extra bits that Frosty pointed out. When she’d finished he looked a lot slimmer, though still nowhere near as well proportioned as the captain.

“I am delighted to say that we have now returned to your home young lady, please accept my heartfelt gratitude for your part in the rescue. Come along Frosty you’re still part of this crew and we must return to Scotland to replace all the snow that you so carelessly fell into. The humans who ski up there are expecting a good fall in the right place this time and it’s up to the Climate Control Service to provide what they want.”

Jennifer Jane climbed down the rope ladder for the last time and found herself back in her tree house. She waved as the cloud flew higher in the sky and then rapidly disappeared on its way back to Scotland.

Moggy opened his eyes, stood up, arched his back and had a good stretch. “Oh good the fog’s gone,” he said, “come on, my tummy says it’s tea time.”
