The I in GaIa

I am not a body in a cell but a cell in a body.
My body’s bound by birth to the Earth who is wound around the sun.
The sun spun web caught my eye in colour; taught me what wealth we have.
We’ve to gather to Gaia, weave together to get her freedom.
You’re her branch waving; her wave crashing; her crash charging; her charge pulsing; her pulse racing; her race that branched out into all of humankind.
Kindredness kindles rabbits under breast like the heart beat of Earth.
Earth beams broadly with life, so your face teems with an untamed joy.
We closet her, we’re closed to her; not close to her, just clothed in her.
Chloe thrill me, fill me up with your heaving hills and gushing vales!
Unveil your wrinkling rills! Let me feel your bristling fields; rugged kames!
Come moist marshes, smooth plains, turgid peaks, wild seas, deep skies into me!
*Crash = A group of rhinoceroses
** Chloe = an ancient epithet of Gaia which means “the green”.
