My thoughts meander like the river that I observe, winding winding away from here. No matter how far I go or how richly my mind captures you microscopically and arranges you in my field of vision; no matter how much I endear to me the memories that are so well kept that it takes a moment to unleash them and watch them lay before me dog eared and scarred from abuse. No matter that I get to hear your voice translated via waves carried through machines. Sometimes it cascades over me. Sometimes I am glazed over with emotion. Other times I am numbed. Everyday I watch the river unchanging like my thoughts because of the distance between my eyes and yours.

Hi adora,
you describe so much emotion in this story, it's
amazing how the mind can take you to another place.
I really enjoyed reading.

such a short piece yet it's absolutely filled with emotion and it flows just like the river you describe. This bit struck me the most: dog eared and scarred from abuse. I'd love to read more.
