Deliver Us Not

Take the left-hand, darker path alone;
ignore the easy, well-lit way,
the sinister choice remains unknown.
Though no crossroad–choice is shown,
and soul-tolls you will have to pay,
take the left-hand, darker path, alone.
The strait-way's final gate is known,
no hurdle will the route gainsay;
take the left-hand, darker path, alone.
'Ere the final trump is blown
and imps and demons come out to play
take the left-hand, darker path, alone.
While the damned and curséd writhe and moan,
and the sky by turns is black and grey,
take the left-hand, darker path, alone.
Stand you before the Jackal's throne
reduced to less then mortal clay;
take the left-hand darker path, alone
the sinister choice remains unknown.
