Give the Kids Back Their Balls

I'm sure most of you have heard about the Toronto school principal who has banned the use of balls in the playground.
This is so stupid, it made international news.
Earl Beatty Public School in east Toronto has told students that they are no longer allowed to bring any hockey, soccer, basket, tennis, or any other type of ball onto school property.
The reason the principal gave was that people were getting hurt by flying balls.
Rush Limbaugh says that not allowing students to play ball is turning them into "wuses". Although, I am not a fan of Rush Limbaugh, I have to agree with him on this one.
How can you not allow kids to play in their own playground?
If people are getting struck by balls, they are obviously walking too close to the play area.
If you are walking where kids are playing, chances are good that you are eventually going to get beaned by a ball.
What is happening here is that the children, who are playing safely, are being punished because the parents and teachers are idiots.
Give the kids back their balls!
