Gull

A gull circles with an anguished cry
Guile!Guile!
As waves gently smash his flawless shores
pushing pebbles and bits of wood
in long drifting lines of debris
higher up the sandy walls
Clams shoot bullets into the sky
while crabs tiptoe with purpose
in the frothy serf below
an otter glides in gracefully for a look
loons and cormorants take beak first dives
while ducks make lazy circles skimming the top
a seal pops up and surveys the scene
before diving down among the fish below,once more
starfish,muscles and other treats adorn the beach
a menagerie of tasty treats to enjoy
but something else has caught his eye
further along,and with a flap of his wings
he is gone
