I’m Smitten With Britain (Light hearted song)

I’m smitten with Britain, well what can I say?
It seems to be written in my D.N.A.
Forget furry kittens or puppies at play,
there’s nothing like Britain to brighten my day.
This island is my land, I’m proud to promote
each inch of it from Land’s End to John O’ Groats.
Like John Bull in his Union Jack coloured coat,
I’m smitten with Britain and there’s no antidote.
I’m smitten with Britain, well what can I do?
My bloods not just red; it feels red, white and blue.
If I said I was Scottish it would not be true
nor English nor Welsh but a Brit through and through.
Thistle and Daffodil; Shamrock and Rose.
The UK is like a bright bouquet of those.
To the Act of Union I drink a toast,
“To the prettiest Harmony ever composed”.
