It seemed as if God, himself, were crying. Crying over the catastrophe that had happened. As soon as we exited my apartment building, it began to pour down rain very heavily. "Aw, man!" Zack exclaims as he tried covering his head with his hands. I gave him a look and then looked at Dagger, who only shrugged at me. I watched as Zack began to run a head of us, very quickly, to reach what seemed like the safety of his car.
"Don't tell me, vampires are allergic to water." I says as I continue to walk with Dagger.
Dagger gives me a look as if to say, you really didn't ask that, did you? He then shakes his head. "No, that's just a ridiculous myth, that you humans created." He says bluntly.
"Then why the heck did he run to his car? He acted like it was going to burn him or something." I say.
"That's because he's a sissified idiot, who's afraid to get his hair wet." Dagger says bluntly.
I give him a doubtful look, "Really?"
Dagger then nods, "Yeah, take a look in the car."
I look over at Zack's neon green Camaro. Inside I could see that Zack was looking at himself in the mirror. He was actually fixing his hair.I let out a sigh. "I can't believe this! He's actually worried about his hair!" I say.
Dagger nods, "I told ya, he's a big ol' sissy." He says.
I just sigh again and the tap on the window. Zack then winds it down. "I'm not coming out of the car, not until it stops raining." He says.
I rolls my eyes at him. "Zack, since you seem to be so epicene. I have an umbrella." I say to him as I hold up the umbrella.
He just looks at me, "Why didn't you say that in the first place? Gimme that!" he says.
"Because I'm not worried about the rain, I'm worried about my sister!" I say pretty much snapping at him as I handed him the umbrella.
I watch as he opens his door and then opens the umbrella. Before closing the door, he presses the button for the trunk. Then he goes to it and opens it. His trunk was full of garbage and other debris. Ranging from an old cardboard box to various items of trash. This included pop and beer cans. There were even crumpled up wads of paper every where. I watched as he rummaged through it and pulls out a large brief case.
"What the heck is in that?" I ask.
"Basically my entire life." He says.
Then he goes and opens the car door again. He drags out two knapsacks and a duffel bag. After closing the door, he looks at me and Dagger. "Well? Are we going or what? I'm ready." He says as he puts the umbrella down. It had finally stopped raining. But the atmostphere was still gloomy, the clouds still hung over out heads.
"Yeah, let's go," Dagger says as he goes toward his car. All Zack and I do, is follow.
"I call shotgun!" Zack shouts as he runs and practically jumps into the front passenger seat.
Dagger glares evilly at him, "You know ladies go first!" he snaps as he opens the door for me.
"Thank you," I say in surprise. I was surprised that Dagger could be a gentleman and actually have manners. I look over at Zack for a few moments, I wondered if he too had manners himself. Then I watch as Dagger get in and shuts the door with a slam.
"Just throw your bags in the back with Leslie." He says to Zack.
Zack nods and flings his bags in the back with me. "Hey! Watch it! You almost it me!" I say. I had neatly placed my bags on the back seat. And I had to almost duck in order not to get hit with his bags.
"Sorry," He says to me.
Before turning on the car, Dagger glares evilly at Zack again. "Watch what the hell you're doin'! Damn it!" He snaps. "Besides almost hittin' Leslie, you don't have to beat up my car." He adds as he turns on the car.
"Sorry," Zack mutters.
Dagger then peels out fo the parking lot. Making the tires screech as he begins to speed down the road. I hold on to the back of the seat for dear life. I close my eyes, all I could imagine, is crashing and me dying on impact. I had to cover my mouth, just to keep from screaming. Once we stopped at a traffic light, I let go of the seat. "Ya know, I'm still human! Meaning slow down, I don't want to die in a high-speed car accident." I say.
Dagger seemed to ignore me, "You'll be fine. I'm actually a safe driver." he says as the light turns green. And the car takes off once again.
Safe driver, my heinie. I think, wishing he would have listened to me. I sit back and try to relax. I was trying to think about something, just to get my mind off Dagger's bad driving. Then the thought of a peaceful medow pops into my head. The sun was shining brightly. Flowers of every color were blooming. Butterflies were every where. The sound of a creek running near by was heard. As well as the sounds of birds singing. Even a few deer were grazing on grass. But what brings me back to reality is me smacking my forehead off of the back of Dagger's seat.
I blink as I rub my forehead, "What the heck is going on?" I ask.
"Well, while you were staring off into space...let's just say we've got company and they're rear ending us to hell." Zack says.
Great apparently Dwayne deosn't want to see use succeed in our mission. I look through the rear windshield, just as the black Cadillac smashes into the back bumper. Dagger lets out a hiss as this happens. "All I can say is hold on, we're gonna have one hellva ride." Dagger says as he veers to the left, going into on coming tracffic. As he did, I could see a semi heading toward us, it's horn blaring. I look back to see the Cadillac trying to block us in. I began to panic, I didn't know what to do, so I screamed.
Just as the semi was a few inches from us, Dagger swerved the car to the left again, back in the right lane. The Cadillac did the same. I put my hand over my chest, I could have a heart attack right about now. Zack looks at Dagger, "That didn't shake them! Do something!" He says.
"I would, but Leslie is in the car." Dagger says.
"Umm...guys, do something fast! They just pulled out guns..I think they're machine guns!" I say. Just as I said that, they open fired on the car and busted out the rear windshield. I screamed and covered my head. They then continue to open fire on us.
"Damn it! Are you okay?" Dagger asks looking back at me. All I could do is nod. I could see Dagger had a very tight grip on the steering wheel, it was so tight I thought he would break it.
Zack then smirks, "I've got an idea!" He says. "And while I'm doing this, make sure that we don't run into things. It'll end badly for us." He adds.
"No shit, Sherlock." Dagger mutters.
"Leslie can you hand me one of the knapsacks?" Zack asks.
I simply nod and hand him one of the knapsacks, wondering what he was up to. He then began to root around in it and pulls out a cylindrical object. He then winds down the window and stands on the seat. He sticks his upper half out the window, sort of like a dog does, when it sticks it's head out the window. He lights the cylindrical object. "Fire in the hole!" He shouts as he throws it. The object then lands smack-dab in the middle of the Cadillac's hood. Which was right on our tail, basically bumper to bumper.
"Go! Go! Go! Step on it! Or we're blown to smithereens!" He says. He didn't even have time to get back into the car, before Dagger apparently pressed the gas petal all the way down. So now he was hanging out of the window, like some crazy person. Just as we went went around a curve, the Cadillac exploded. Of course it had to be a huge explosion. Zack finally sits down, back in the car. I just sat there looking at him as if he was totally insane. Note to self: Don't ever make Zack mad. I think. Of course I was silent, I was shocked and also terrified.
"Leslie, are you okay back there?" Dagger asks. All I could do was simply nod.
Zack then rubs his hands together, "Looks like I took care of them." He says.
"Wouldn't count on it." Dagger says.
"Because they've got back up." He adds as he points to a pick up truck that was coming straight for us.
"Uh, guys right now, I wouldn't worry about that pick up. I would worry about the other two that are coming from the left and right." I say pointing out the window.
Dagger looks at me through the rear veiw mirror, "I'm gonna take some drastic measures. Buckle up, sit still and shut up." He says. I nod and do as I am told.
He then looks at Zack, "The same goes for you too," He says. Zack rolls his eyes and does as he is told.
My heart began to race as it seemed all three vehicles sped up. Just before the trucks coming from the left and right could hit us, Dagger hit the breaks. The read of the car fishtailed a little as it came to an abrupt stop. The two trucks then smash into each other. Dagger then begins to drive teh car backwards and stops once more. The third truck, which was in the same lane as us, but goin the wrong way, smashes into the other two. Dagger then looks at Zack, "Before any cars come, blow 'em up." He says.
Zack nods and gets out of the car. He throws another cylindrical object on the trucks. He begins to walk away toward the car. Just as he got in, the trucks then exploded. Pieces of them flew every where. A tire or two rolled past us. The reamains of what was once the trucks, were on fire. Dagger then puts the car in gear and goes around the wreckage.
"Looks like we took care of them." Zack says.
Dagger give Zack a look, "Don't jinx it, you have a bad habit of doin' that." He says.
For half an hour, it seemed Zack was right. Nothing bad had happened yet. Of course we were going over the speed limit still. Once in a while I would warn Dagger about him getting a speeding ticket. And of course he just ignored my warning. Then I noticed, while looking out the window, that a black Cadillac was behind us. It was awfully close, hugging out bumper. Ithen I noticed another one in the other lane next to us.
"Guys, I think we have company again." I say.
"Lovely," Zack mutters.
"I can see that, why do you think I'm speedin' up?" Dagger snaps.
We were only a few inches away from the one that was on our bumper. I was holding my breath. The entire time I was hoping and praying that it was just a person with a case of bad road rage. But the next thing I knew, was the sound of gun fire was heard. Twice for that matter, to be exact. And the bullets must have popped our tires or tire, because now we were tailspinning, out of control.
