Technology and poetry
P K Routray
Technological words get poetic touch
implying a general feeling to assume and to judge.
But the degree and depth of measurement
easily determined in technology does not so far suit to poetic temperament
Hence in the use of warmth in love and romance
we find no thermo metrical degree’s presence
If it would have been so, with use of measure of heat
we would have measured the degree of love to determine it in complete.
Same is the story for hardness, coolness, and melt ability and so on so forth
with use of technological measurement it would have been easy to judge those attributes’ worth.
Perhaps poets want to keep mystery around their creation,
to keep common man guessing with inferences self drawn.
A challenge to the technologists to measure all the attribute pertaining to love, beauty and other such traits in poetry,
so that the poets can be specific and to the perception of readers their creations cannot be off-key.
