POEM: Sea and Stars.

Tethered to the silt and rock,
The sea's waves crash in desolation,
currents trapped beneath her skin
stir a chill and dark depression.
The raging oil-black silk is torn,
and fragile froth of lace released,
the silvered moon shine casting
a diamond carpet on the sheen.
Tossed lace becomes a spray of ice,
fractured fingers reaching up above,
devouring steel-bright clouds in hopes
of stealing jewels to ease cold depths
The tormented sea is desperate
for the sparkling beauty of the sky,
where stars cascade in scattered sparks,
and mist of promised heavenly joy.
Teasing the earthbound sluggish waters
the moon's smile delights in its glow,
with the feather light breeze whispering
of the freedom she will never know.
