Painting with a,b,c, …

Arranging letters, weaving sound
– to form words which my thought expounds,
encapsulates, communicates
when rightly linked to many more
in front, behind, next and before …
Placing words with care to share –
a picture, sculpture to prepare:
some truth, an incident, idea –
concise, checked out and crystal clear,
unambiguous, and snatching
wandering thoughts to listen, catching –
(padding waffle cut to keep
attention, mustn’t send to sleep);
not too long, but full, complete,
saying what intended, neat.
Well that’s the aim,
we can but try,
and hope that what's within the frame
be understood, pleasure supply.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Another uncommented on thus far piece of work.
I like the fact that you are raising the status of us who play with words to the level of the artists - and certainly a lot of writers' work is of equal or greater value that that of the greatest artist. But even on the very mundane level of playing scrabble, there is a lot of beauty and pleasure to be had in finding combinations of letters to make words that fit a criterion. And learning always learning more about our beautiful language. Yesterday I learned that the two letter word, ZA, which has recently been allowed, is a shortened form of pizza.
