The World at Your Feet

If only I could spread the Olde World at your feet
Like marmalade on toast as your breakfast to eat
If only I could draw tales from the ancients of days
Feed you sweet faded glory as a banquet to graze
If only I could take you, dreamcatcher, by the hand
down hallways of history, trail footprints in sand
Catch sighs echo hollow from tombs dry as crusts
Touch spinning of prayer wheels that purged the world's dust
I'd set you down windward in unchartered seas
Quaff billowy bygones, you'd drink them like tea
We'd plunder like pirates who ravished the waves
Trawl treasure by moonlight in hermitage caves
I'd gift you mystic mountains a breath from the sky
where zealous eyrie eagles would wantonly fly
I'd sing you a hillsong served with buttery brew
fill your heart with the dreamscapes of worlds you once knew
If only I could spread the Olde World at your feet
if only past heyday is the world we could meet
