BIRDS MAKE BETTER MUSIC

we think it's very pleasant
when we hear the morning trill
of the songbird in the garden
that wafts through the window sill
.
but it's just nervous chattering
it is all that they will dare
the birds make better music
when we humans are not there
.
they share a special language
it's a code they call their own
they warn each other when we're near
and invade their safety zone
.
they keep their secrets locked inside
they deny us that sweet sound
the birds create grand symphonies
when humans aren't around
.
we've had some composers
i am not denying that
but the sharpness of the avian
leave the human's efforts flat
.
they cock their beady eyes at us
we're distrustful, it appears
their tunes would simply blow our minds
but they're not for us to hear
