On a Canoe Evening
By Richard L. Provencher
- 1817 reads
I can watch from a hull of
listless movements
how the shoreline is a parade
in silhouettes
and their stillness listens.
My canoe is a pause within
contentment
more like a collection
of phrases,
rushing solace to benefits
upon this small lake --
a time of day when life
becomes the poem.
