Together, Apart

When we can be open
Not be what we're not
Without being stared at
Or put on the spot
When they're done tearing up
Our bars and our art
And just let us be
- Well at least that's a start
When they're through saying
Who we should find hot
And rushing to judge us
For what some have got
When bigots cease telling us
That for their part
They see us as hell bound
In some kind of cart
When we have no more cause
To bemoan our lot
And there's no longer talk
Of moral rot
When nobody wants me
To deny my heart
- Then starts life together
And ends love apart
