The Ship

If a ship out at sea was slowly but surely changed, repaired and upgraded panel by panel, week by week, month by year until every single part of the boat was completely different to the original part of the boat would it be the same boat?
Is there something about the boat, lets call it the boat's essence, that remains even when the exterior is completely different. What is is about a boat that makes it a boat? Of course the name of the boat is important. Lets take a boat harboured up at a port. You walk up to it and notice it's striking red colour and smooth finish. You internally make a note of its name and it reads 'Samsara' on the side written in white block capitals. The next day the boat has gone and an emptiness now resides as the form of the boat slowly drifts into the space of the horizon. Each day you return to the bay and look away as you see the empty space remain. You long to see the boat again as it struck a cord; the red beauty floating on the mercurial shore. A year or so has passed and the boat is just a distant memory, a passing phase. But you live by the shore so you walk down there everyday to soak up the dropping sun. The empty space is filled but with a different hue, you look again and its definitely blue. That's not the right place to park, it's home to a different boat, but then you start to feel a familiar pull, it looks different but feels the same too. The eyes scan the boat and then you see the name afloat in italics written in gold. You say it out loud as you read it back and it's just what you thought, Samsara has returned to the shore.
Everything changes. The cells in your body are constantly changing from one day to the next, dying as new ones come in to do the same job. Look at your face ten years from now and you'll see a different skin, saggy tits and a double chin. Nothing in this world is constant apart from the consciousness within which was with you before birth and remains the space on the horizon upon which all things change. It is present in you and is god too. Its the life that seeks to evolve into something new. Each moment that you live is a new opportunity, a rebirth and a chance to connect with what is already in you and always will be to. The thoughts come and go quicker than new cells do and they are not you. You are the thing beneath that resides deep. It's all knowing and pure, it's tranquil and glory all rolled in to one, it's the creator and the created its you and the one.

Only Fools and Horses did
Only Fools and Horses did that. Trigger was boasting that he'd had the same broom for twenty years. 12 new shafts and 12 new brush heads, but the same broom. I don't know how many new heads I've had on my old shoulders, but they all feel the same.

Love this. Brings realization
Love this. Brings realization to me...that, no matter the horrors I've gone through and how they possess me, I am still that little girl smiling in an old photo, innocent and unaware.
Thanks for posting,
