True Love
P K Routray
May be for the infinite time the subject is repeated on the divine trait
since ages whose true interpretations are still under debate.
For generations the writers, artist, poets and playwrights
have glorified it with ornamentation from their creative height.
Its votaries have propitiated it with their passionate infatuation
misinterpreted by the contemporary societies as act of true devotion.
But examples of true love as Shakespearean sonnet has outlined
could not be seen live without altering “when alteration it finds”.
With time true love does not wane but swell,
example of such love so far in this mortal earth none can dwell.
All mortal loves have selfish motives tingled with them
for sake of one’s own happiness which is individual’s ultimate aim.
Can we tell that our love has won over our senses
and it transcends all sensual pleasure, pains and remains intense?
Will it not change, despite withering of beauty or sweetness in tone,
or with power of chair, abundance of wealth and other charisma gone?
Only we can tell, such love from the Almighty exists for His creation
unabated by time, uninfluenced by senses and beyond selfishness that He showers upon.
