Komfort is transfixed. He stares like a stuffed dodo at the man hanging on the do-it- yourself-cross. Clouds are moving around the earth, oceans are heating up, the sun is drowning in a holy river, the moon is studied by would-be-scientists.
Komfort is not aware of all these things.
He is just gazing.
"Finally, I thought you'd never come..." The voice of the half naked man is now louder. It sounds almost optimistic.
"Finally?" stammers Komfort. The clear voice seems to defrost him a bit.
"It doesn't matter, anymore," says the victim, "the most important thing is that you are here. Now I can finally show you who I am."
"Who you are?"asks Komfort incredulously.
"Yeah, who I am. How I want you to see me."

Komfort is sighing deep. After several minutes of apathy, he is coming to his senses. What is he doing here? Didn't he feel so happy only an hour ago? Didn't he drink and sing with his friends?
I should probably warn you, I'll be just fine.
Komfort looks around. What kind of neighbourhood is this? He is standing on a small square. It must be the plaza belonging to a church. The grey building is towering above the man hanging on the cross. Assessing the broken windows, the blocked wooden door, the sanctuary hasn't been used for years.
Meanwhile, the rain falls from heaven like wine from a broken communion cup.
The water fills Komforts hair, shoes, trousers, mind, view.

"What are you doing here?" Komfort is now only two meters away from the beams.
The tortured man smirks. "What I am doing? Can't you see? I'm suffering."
"But who did it? Who tormented you? Who nailed you to the timber?"
"You, did it..." The voice of the man is now again fragile and soft.
"I did it?" Komfort starts to laugh. The sound is reverberating against the dirty walls of the empty place of worship. Eventually, Komfort is able to relax. Maybe it's a remnant of the dark Belgium beer?

"I thirst," cries the plump messiah suddenly.
After a closer look, Komfort notices the dry lips. He examines the fleshy cracks and ruptures. As if they are made of stones, lying in a desert for decades.
"But why don't you get off the cross?" asks Komfort.
"I can't, you nailed me down," groans the unhappy man.
Komfort comes closer and studies the body.
"You're fastened with ropes," concludes the visitor.
The disappointed redeemer bows down his head.
"Can't you see it? All this suffering is because of you! So, you don't have to suffer anymore! I will set you free, I will comfort you! If only..."
"If only?"wants Komfort to know.
"If only you accept my sorrow, my sadness, my trouble."
Komforts smiles relieved. He looks at the chubby fellow.
"I'm sorry, but I have to go. I'm also thirsty. I think I can hear my friends still singing and laughing."
"Bye, bye, my son..." sighs the downhearted saviour.
"Bye, bye, dad, take good care," salutes Komforts and walks away.

seems a nice enough place to
seems a nice enough place to leave a man nailed to a cross (or tied) - in a broken-down church.
