Surmising Poetry I

Poetry is a random spew of words

Vomited from a writers poisoned mind.

Once read it seeps into your pores

Down your throat

And settles in your heart and soul.

It takes up permanent residence

Yet can bruise you internally

Words so powerful that they beat you

Mercilessly from the inside.

You can carry on and say you're fine

But those injuries are forever

And you know deep in your bones

That you have read something

That will stay with you eternally.
