When the Spring comes home again (Nature hymn)

What beneath the snow now sleeps,
like a secret nature keeps;
seeds of flowers that will bloom;
light bursting forth from winters gloom.
All that is now ice and snow
will, green as an emerald, glow
flowers frilling hill and field
when winter, to warm springtime, yields.
Chorus:
When the Spring comes home again;
there’ll be joy and laughter then,
after cold white winter goes
warm sun shall shine and bright blooms, grow.
Children who, with chills, now shake,
when warm Springtime starts to wake,
will all laugh and play and sing
with hearts as warm and bright as spring.
On bare boughs now draped with snow
rustling leaves of green shall grow
birds struggling all winter long
shall burst into bright springtime song.
Chorus:
When the Spring comes home again;
there’ll be joy and laughter then,
after cold white winter goes
warm sun shall shine and bright blooms, grow.
