All As I Watched

A cloud slept peacefully falling
back over my window's horizon
as it breathed in and out of the blue.
A beautiful profile, opened
and closed its flickering lids
and passed away
fading to the peripheral, just
as another, lovelier still,
swanned in on white wings, absorbed
in the transient moments
of drifting wonders that blend
our joys with sadness.
And I sighed at the end of the show;
the mood being sapped by a gathering black
that stood for tomorrow -
and tomorrow comes - eventually.

A lovely poem - very
A lovely poem - very melancholy but pretty at the same time. Tomorrow doesn't always bring black though.

Lovely. The transient moments
Lovely. The transient moments- life being the journey rather than the destination. Really beautiful.

Oh! Bee,
Oh! Bee,
this is so beautiful and set me off, tears welling up... sorry I will compose myself.
It seems like you're noticing all those little things that we take for granted in our rushing about lives.
Your imagination for the symbol of the cloud swanning in on white wings just took my breath away. Definitely my favourite of yours and so carefully thought out.
Thank you for sharing...you're an angel.
Jenny.

I used to love watching clouds
Still do, but I seem to have forgotton to do it recently. I like the way you describe the pleasure and beuty of watching clouds as the take on infinite shapes and then you bring us down to earth and remind us life can be so difficult to hang on to.
(I'm catching up after being aaway for a short while. I hope you are feeling good)

firstly, this is a lovely
firstly, this is a lovely title... there's a level of angst but it's the thread of thoughts and images conveyed with such economy of words - the truly wonderful 'A beautiful profile, opened/and closed its flickering lids as it passed away' that fills it with life...there is levels of life, moments and thoughts, bottled in this, and that`s a continuing wonder. love your expression.
