section 136
it's coming...
that day
when i can no longer
step over my pavement cracks.
a crisp uniform
and shoes polished
within an inch of twilight.
the awkward conversation;
my gaze, upward banked
like a gull.
that moment
of neat restraint.
law delivered in monotone,
as i fold like a final page,
knowing i won't be going home.

There's woe behind this.
There's woe behind this.
'as i fold like a final page,
knowing i won't be going home.' I like this line a lot. Just thinking that turn might be better than fold.
