Maelstrom

I was warned but I would not be told.
She is temperamental, they had said,
- capricious - and blows hot and cold.
I could see that we were poles apart
yet I could not resist her magnetism.
We can’t control matters of the heart.
Things between us happened fast,
we experienced a whirlwind romance;
didn’t think our sky could be overcast.
She was, either, an icy frozen glacier
or, at times, a fiery bubbling volcano;
people asked how I could fancy her.
I’ve to admit that every now and then
thunder rumbled and without warning
I was floored by a gale of force ten.
I gradually and sadly got the impression
that her changeable moods were due
to a chronic, deep seated depression.
Wondered how long our love would last
seeing that sublimation could not occur.
A scenario that’s not easy to forecast.

You have had a lot of clever
You have had a lot of clever fun here getting so many meteorological words into you composition. Plenty of metaphors in our weather! Rhiannon

Yes I enjoyed all the weather
Yes I enjoyed all the weather metaphors too. It's easy to be attracted to someone so changeable because of the excitement but this soon fades into exhaustion.
