Song In The Rain

Like a song sung in the rain on an empty street for no one ,

soaked to the skin , I’m still singing

cause who cares anyway for abandoned love left out in the cold ,

no one to hold , its time to go home again , its all right ,

Its just a song sung in the rain ,

I love you so come back again , if you would

and hold me tight on a rainy night , I love you ,

I’m just passing time ,

the street lights shine and there’s no around the city tonight

but that’s all right ,

because I’m singing a song in the rain

and for hours this city is mine ,

there’s no one but me can see the stars that shine over the Liffey .

Rain falling down on this dirty old town ,

wash’s the street and everything’s sweet on the corner ,

cause I’m singing my song in the rain

and this dirty old town is clean again

and tonight everything ’s all right ,

because I’m singing a song in the rain

and for hours this city is mine ,

there’s no one but me can see the stars that shine over the Liffey

In all the public house’s the doors have been closed ,

in a crack in the concrete I found a dark rose ,

growing wild like a child in this dirty old town

left out in the rain , but that’s all right
