Victorian love
Affair with industry turned
Where rust lies bleeding
The forgotten shed,
Buried beneath a landslide
Once Duke of the line
The slow-swaying joy
Of the fast track run right down,
Pulse of industry
Black locomotive
Clanking metal gears now still
Never change again
Red heart now silent
Veins of coal collapsed below
Weight of history
Desolation row
For blackened hulks, no longer
Fit for grand days out
Now rust weaves its song
All around the engine, sad
Red garland of death
Moss passengers ride
Shotgun on the funnel, steam
Blocked by greenery
Death and the maiden
Dance around the old cabin
Flack feasting on black
Wheels no longer sing
Soprano duets with the
Carriages, for love
