Lessons from the Pugs

Next to my car in the car park was a four wheel drive with the tailgate open. The owner, presumably was sitting on the tailgate holding two leads in his hand. At the end of one lead was a light dun coloured pug. At the end of the other lead was a dark coloured pug.
On seeing me the dun pug walked up to me, sniffed my hand and allowed me to fuss it with strokes and scratches behind it ears.
'This one is brave' I said to the owner.
'Wait, you'll see in a minute' the owner replied.
Then the dun pug walked back into the shadows of the car, muzzled up to its mate and almost cajoling it to walk towards me which it did. The two of them walked so close together their flanks were in constant contact. The second pug was close enough to sniff my hand. I then stroked and fussed it just like the dun pug.
'That one....the one your fussin.....its blind.....has been for years.....be lost without 'is mate.....that one' he said pointing to the dun pug 'even allows t'other one to eat first....never seen it with dogs before..normally they just dive in and scoff the lot......amazin'.
