twas born on a plane

i know that's insane

imagine my mother in flight

in clouds, high above

when a push came to shove

i arrived on that curious night

the land down below

as everyone knows

would claim me as i flew on by

twas over fort worth

i experienced birth

officially, texan, am i

i learned how to drawl

claimed the pronoun,"y'all"

a ten gallon hat on my head

though born in the sky

when it's time i should die

to texas, i'm heading instead
