When the walls came crashing down

and there was no one around ,

that’s when I found , you were there . 

When my life was on the line ,

when I was losing my mind ,

time after time , you were there .

You were there and pulled me through

all the hard times that I knew ,

how can I ever  thank you  .

When I had nowhere to go

and no one wanted to know  ,

you said hello , you were there  .

You were there , when I was cold and hungry

and when I had no money , you came to me .

You were there  .

You were there right by my side ,

when all my hopes had died ,

because of you I survived .

When ever they criticize,

I pray and I close my eyes ,

then I realise , you were there ,

When it all comes to an end

then I will whisper Amen ,

thank you my friend ,

you were there  .

 You were there and now I see

the way everything should be ,

you were always there for me .
