Poetry isn't my strong suit. It seems like everything I learned as an English lit student about meter and syntax and using structure and symbols etc. etc. just goes out the window in the face of modern free verse. I can't analyse most of the poems I read, because aside from the spacing between words, I really don't get what makes it poetry. This is me kinda joking with myself about it, not a critique of anyone's poetry in particular. 

I'm going to post an actual first draft of a poem today as well, one that I know isn't very good, but we all need practice and feedback, right?

yeh, poetry is a bit of a mystery to me too, but I guess we just like what we like.
