Wish you were here
Cottage by the sea
an old farm house converted.
Stone, little plants growing,
peeking out between the cracks.
Quiet...
The only sound - birds,
Twittering cheerily in hedgerows
and the soft bleating of sheep
grazing in the next field.
A walk along the cliff
Overlooks a misty ocean.
Sun making a lazy effort
to stretch its rays
beyond a quilt of lolling fat clouds,
a half hearted effort to rise.
Soft...
Laying on white sheets,
holding a book - fiction,
not text books that I normally read.
Pack of biscuits beside me,
a pot of tea.
I'll get some crusty bread,
some crisps and grapes,
blueberries,
red wine, a nice Brie,
not that Camembert we bought before.
The one that stank the hotel room
and I left in the corridor,
when I couldn't find a bin.
We laughed all night about that
that cheese.
Wish you were here...
Said we'd go when you were better.
A lazy holiday,
where we could sit
and eat and drink
and read.
You'd like it here.
They left us a postcard,
I'll send it to you
so you can see if you approve
and we'll come back here
when we meet again.
Take a long walk by the sea,
curl up by the fire
with a glass of wine
and laugh some more about the cheese.
The cheese.... lol.

You draw a very attractive picture of the quiet cottage and cliff scenery, and of relaxing with happy companionship away from pressing duties. Rhiannon
