Longing

It is especially dark tonight
ribbons of ebony twisting slowly around a small amount of light
the twinkling diamonds are few but vast in their beauty
this isn't what draws me closer
only that which is unseen has me upon my toes
spinning in a haze of bliss and I long for more
to be one with it, to be home
crystal shards form inside lifted orbs
creating an abstract in my mind
careful not to get cut and be swept away by a sea of blood
I dance closer, longing for more
my senses are heightened and I can almost taste the flavor of its sillouhette
looking for that lasso, reaching tall and high, the lace slipping through my fingers
holding on tighter, heartbeat lodged between throat and ears
breath is uneven and then I fall.
arms are lithe wrapped and cradling shaking legs, yet I long for more.
